PLG are proud to mark Action for Brain Injury Awareness Week this week.
We love working with clients who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) and their families, creating a unique home for every single one. We know that creating a forever home for our clients is transformative, especially for a client with ABI and we always put what is most important for our client at the forefront of what we set out to achieve.
This was never more so when we transformed a nice executive home outside Bristol into a dream home for our client who had ABI. With beautiful views towards the Severn Estuary, we extended and opened up fully accessible living spaces for our client and his family downstairs and installed a lift so he could sleep upstairs with the rest of the family. Better still, he had a suite of rooms with picture windows overlooking the surrounding countryside and a fully accessible balcony which he could access from his bedroom with superb views. To make this utterly bespoke to our client, a diehard Bristol City fan, we did just as he wanted and themed his wet room and bedroom red and white. He loves it! And so did we.
And so did the judges in the LABC Regional Awards where we won the award for Best Inclusive Building. Take a look at the video!
We regularly see the difference a thoughtful and carefully designed property can make to people with ABI. In Action for Brain Injury Awareness Week we are delighted to share how we helped this family who are affected by ABI and celebrate helping and transforming the lives of others.
