James Bovey

James leads the property finding team, utilising his expertise to identify potential properties that, with or out without adaptations, offer solutions for the diverse housing needs of PLG clients. From short-term rentals to “forever” homes, he excels in finding properties that offer tailored solutions, whether through existing features or possible adaptations.

James also plays a pivotal role in assisting the wider client team and the litigation claim by conducting and providing thorough research into property requirements and the property market.

Experience

James has a wealth of property knowledge, with over 20 years of experience in the property industry. His career began in 2001 when he joined a reputable independent estate agency in Torquay as a Trainee Negotiator. During his time there, he advanced to the position of Office Manager, and in 2012, he was given the responsibility of creating a successful lettings department, which continues to thrive today.

During this role, he also handled Student lettings for a brief period, before joining the team at PLG in 2017 and into an industry that allowed him to leverage his extensive expertise as an agent in both sales and rental properties.

Expertise

With over 20 years of experience in various customer service environments, he has honed his ability to adapt to a wide range of situations.

Negotiation skills have been a crucial asset throughout his career, particularly in the realm of Estate Agency. In his current industry, these skills prove invaluable when finalising purchases and rentals for clients, especially in cases involving properties that require adaptations.

Pragmatism, problem-solving, and a sense of urgency are paramount in his work. Understanding that clients often face challenging circumstances through no fault of their own, he takes it upon himself to find solutions that may not be readily apparent to others. The ability to think critically, provide practical solutions, and act swiftly is vital in ensuring client satisfaction and resolving complex situations.

Accreditations

As a Trainee, he successfully obtained a Technical Award in Residential Sales, a newly established minimum standard accreditation in 2002. Building upon this achievement, he advanced his qualifications by achieving an NVQ Level 3 in the Sale of Residential Property.

With his transition to the Lettings sector, he further expanded his expertise by obtaining a Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

Throughout his career in Estate Agency, he has maintained membership in both the National Association of Estate Agents and the Association of Residential Letting Agents. However, as the industry has evolved and these associations have merged under Propertymark, he is no longer an active member due to his shift away from estate agency.

We strive to improve our clients’ future.
