2023 LABC Winner of the Best Residential Conversion or Alteration to an Existing Home in the Central Region

We are proud to announce that PLG Consultants have been named the regional winner of the Central region LABC Building Excellence Awards 2023 in the category of ‘Best Residential Conversion or Alteration to an Existing Home,’ following last year’s prestigious National LABC award. This project has also been shortlisted as a finalist for the LABC Grand Finals in January 2024.

Our award-winning project, Toki Farm in Waltham Cross, involved a dramatic transformation of a former farmhouse, creating exceptional therapy and family spaces, including a much-needed hydrotherapy pool. Working closely with the family, we initially assisted in finding a suitable rental home in Central London, and later collaborated to design this unique space tailored to their needs. The landscaped gardens offer a secluded and private sanctuary for the family and their son, along with new resident goats, chickens, and other animals who are equally enjoying the space.

Our winning project, Old Station Road, showcases exceptional adaptation and extension work, evolving through unforeseen challenges on site. It highlights the power of collaboration between Design Teams and Building Control to ensure project goals are met, even under significant challenges.

This transformation has profoundly impacted our client and her family, providing much-needed space to enhance their quality of life and maintain family unity.
