As a quantity surveyor, Will works closely with our architects, clients and main contractors to help ensure every project is carefully considered, well managed and delivered in line with the agreed contract.
From preparing detailed cost estimates and reviewing tenders, to managing valuations and final accounts throughout construction, Will helps keep a close eye on both the financial and contractual side of a project.
Will’s role is about more than numbers, though. By working closely with our contractor network and wider supply chain, Will helps the PLG team make informed decisions, identify potential risks early, and ultimately help our clients achieve the home they have always envisioned.
Experience
Will has spent the past eight years working in the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor, primarily within Main Contractor environments. During this time, he has worked across a diverse range of sectors, including housing, industrial, public, blue light and entertainment.
His experience covers projects ranging from £10,000 to £12 million, with responsibility for subcontract procurement, account management, variations, interim valuations and final accounts.
Having worked from the main contractor’s perspective, Will brings valuable insight into how contractors price, manage and deliver projects. This experience is now helping PLG strengthen our tender review process, contract administration and contractor management, giving our clients even greater confidence throughout their project.
Expertise
Will is driven by curiosity and has a genuine desire to understand how things work. From starting his career as a Quantity Surveying apprentice, he has built his knowledge by learning from industry experts, asking questions and getting involved in every aspect of a project.
He is a natural communicator and team player who enjoys building strong relationships with contractors and the wider supply chain. This people-focused approach, combined with his attention to detail, helps identify potential risks and make better-informed decisions for our clients.
Will also loves nothing more than getting stuck into a fresh tender pack, producing detailed schedules of work, quantifying every element and bringing the numbers together.
